This is not a crowded tourist stop. It’s a local favorite, known for its scale, beauty, and peaceful atmosphere.

The Adventure

The experience begins directly at the trailhead. From there, we start a steady ~45-minute hike through lush rainforest terrain. Along the way, we cross small streams and stop at a smaller waterfall, perfect for photos and a quick refresh before reaching the main attraction.

As the trail opens up, Charco Prieto reveals itself — a powerful waterfall dropping into a deep natural pool, surrounded by cliffs, tropical vegetation, and complete tranquility.

Once at the falls, you’ll have time to:

• Swim in the natural pool

• Climb closer to the waterfall

• Take photos and videos

• Explore the surrounding area

• Relax and enjoy the scenery at your own pace

Your guide will set up fresh fruit and snacks while you enjoy the water and surroundings.

After time at the waterfall, we hike back along the same trail and end where the adventure began.
